I’m currently at work on a book about computing and romance in the 1980s. I also write about contemporary fiction and material culture.
My scholarly work appears in PMLA, Contemporary Literature, Post45, Modern Fiction Studies, The Journal of American Studies, and Literature Compass. I also write for public venues such as LARB and Public Books.
I teach 20th and 21st century American literature, material culture studies, critical theory (especially psychoanalysis), media studies, and critical race studies.
